Montreal (8-1-0) sits in first place in the CFL, while Ottawa (0-9-0) is in last place. Despite that, Ottawa has plenty of talent, and the game is being played on the field.
The Alouettes are coming off a bye week, while the REDBLACKS lost, 33-21, to the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg.
Alexandre Gagné is on the verge of taking sole possession of first place in Alouettes history with his 95th special-teams tackle. He is currently tied for first with Chip Cox.
Defensive starters returning…
Defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson, linebackers Geoff Cantin-Arku and Najee Murray, as well as defensive back Wes Sutton, will return to the lineup. Sutton has missed the Alouettes’ last two games.
On offense, running back Shomari Lawrence will return to action. In 12 carries this season, he has rushed for 81 yards, averaging an excellent 6.8 yards per carry.
Decarius Hawthorne, David Perales, Micah Awe, Gemon Green and Faion Hicks all stepped up when called upon to help Noel Thorpe’s unit. It is a great reflection of the team’s depth and talent.
