Davis Alexander and Travis Theis Named Among CFL Top Performers of July

Montreal, August 5, 2026 – Quarterback Davis Alexander and running back Travis Theis have been named among the Canadian Football League's (CFL) top three performers for the month of July.

Alexander finished first in the monthly voting, earning the honour for the second consecutive month after also being selected in June.

The 27-year-old quarterback posted a perfect 4-0 record, completing 90 of 121 pass attempts (74.4%) for 1,310 yards and seven touchdowns. He surpassed the 400-yard mark twice and recorded another game with more than 300 passing yards.

Impressively, he completed nine passes of 30 or more yards during the month.

Theis finished second in the July voting. He recorded two 100-yard rushing performances, including a 156-yard outing. The American running back carried the ball 61 times for 434 yards (an average of 108.5 yards per game) and four touchdowns.

He currently ranks third in the CFL with 600 rushing yards.

The 25-year-old registered 12 runs of more than 10 yards and three carries of over 20 yards. He also showcased his versatility against Calgary in Week 7, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown while adding 49 receiving yards.

The Pratt, Kansas native was named one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Week twice, in Weeks 7 and 8.

Players were chosen by a panel composed of representatives from the CFL's Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics, and Content departments.
